Daily examen phone wallpaper
This year, our church family is leaning into the practice of the presence of God together, through an ancient practice called The Daily Examen. Despite the breakneck pace of life in Silicon Valley, we are intentionally choosing the pace of peace, taking time every day to slow down, listen, and talk with God.
The Daily Examen has five movements:
Invite: Invite God to make you aware of his loving presence, here and now.
Give Thanks: Consider one positive experience from the day and thank God for it.
Reflect: Reflect on your emotions throughout the day, particularly the painful ones.
Confess: Seek God’s forgiveness and repent for any wrongdoing today.
Look Forward: Pray for the rest of today, and tomorrow.
“Let us occupy ourselves entirely in knowing God. The more we know Him, the more we will desire to know Him. As love increases with knowledge, the more we know God, the more we will truly love Him. We will learn to love Him equally in times of distress or in times of great joy.”
-Brother Lawrence, The Practice of the Presence of God
