In John 15, Jesus gives an extended analogy that His followers are like branches of vines, and that He is the vine. And that the goal of a grape vine, of course, is to produce fruit. But this makes us uncomfortable. We prefer to think that life happens because of our hustle. But Jesus says that life - and the abundance of life - comes when normal people “abide” with Jesus. So we’ll examine what that means, and why it’s actually a deeply freeing way to live.
