COMPASSION IMMERSION 2015

There’s a new term on the rise. SLACKTIVISM. One online dictionary defines it as, “the act of participating in obviously pointless activities as an expedient alternative to actually expending effort to fix a problem.” Like buttons on Facebook, Hearts on Instagram, Favorites on Twitter - the options are endless when it comes to participating in convenient compassion, compassion that requires no risk or sacrifice, compassion at the push of a button. But God’s call to compassion is something altogether different. God’s call to compassion takes us deeper into his heart for the world and compels us to respond with more than just our good intentions. So the question is, How serious are we about responding to this call? For the entire month of August, we’ll focus on immersing ourselves into this call and responding.
