2017 LOOKING BACK
Last week, Facebook unveiled its annual Year in Review, which highlights the biggest moments of 2017. And a glance at the top events of the year confirmed what we all suspected: The year 2017 was pretty terrible.
There was Hurricane Harvey, which caused $198.6 billion in damage in the Houston area making it the costliest natural disaster in United States history. Then, there was Hurricane Maria that destroyed the infrastructure of Puerto Rico. The Las Vegas strip shooting. The Manchester terror attack. The countless stream of stories of sexual misconduct, harassment (and worse) from men in powerful places.
Yeah, 2017 was tough.
And it makes us wonder. If this is my news stream, is our world hopelessly broken? Is there any hope?
