REFUGEE CARE

REFUGEE CARE

In August of 2021, the US military departure from Afghanistan, and then months later in February of 2022, the Russian invasion of Ukraine resulted in millions of displaced people fleeing their home countries to seek safety and asylum across the globe.  Many of these legal refugees were granted asylum in California, right near the Bay Area.  In response to this new influx of traumatized, war-torn families (many of whom have young children), WestGate Church started Refugee CARE to meet the immediate and serious needs of refugees in our area.  In total, this past year WestGate Church was able to give more than $204,000 to Afghan and Ukrainian refugee care, and hundreds of families have been served and cared for. Equally as important to us and the refugees are the many of you who have given your time to share God’s love with your prayers, time, and hands.
